In this time all astronomers, trying to explain the weird planetary motion in the sky, introduced theepicyclic theory.

This theory states that the geocentric planetary motion could be considered as a combination of circular motions.

The question: How did this theory contribute to overcoming the methodological and epistemological difficulties? And How did these perceptions stand in the way of preventing science from developing?
