In this paper, I will show how language takes an important place in Merleau-Ponty's philosophy.

His philosophy of language represented a new aspect and a new field to work in.

This specificity is reflected in differents features of language, he reformulated its character in Phenomenology of Perception and The Visible and the Invisible, he never ceased to ask and interrogate a language again and again in order to clarify the relation between thought and language.
