Abstract EN

The present research paper aims to indicate the legal value of the cover note in the insurance policy, to illustrate the difference between the cover note and the insurance policy, and to show the legality of the cover note.

The present study also aims to identify the shape of the cover note and the principles on which it is based.

The most important quality of the cover note is the temporal element, since time is the most important factor.

Hence, it is described as temporary.

The cover note may contain the same items mentioned in the final insurance policy, while the legal system recognizes these items.

The present study recommends that the cover note be taken into account by the law as most of the Arab legislations disregard it.

It should be covered in the legal system by a number of articles to prevent future disputes; and it should be regarded as a legal proof.

The present study also calls for promoting the culture of insurance among the individuals of the Saudi society, pointing out its significance for them
