Abstract EN

The current research aims at identifying the negative effects of using the students of the College of Education for the Internet and social networking networks.

The research community may be from all students of the Faculty of Education at the University of Missan for the academic year 2018-2019.

(100) students were selected randomly as a sample for this study.

The researcher prepared a suitable research tool, a questionnaire of the negative effects of the use of the Internet and social media.

The researcher used a triple scale to estimate the degree of response to the questionnaire.

The researcher verified the apparent validity of the tool by presenting it in its preliminary form to a number of arbitrators.

The questionnaire includes (20) statements in its final draft.

The stability of the tool was verified by applying a sample and the stability coefficient value was found using the Alpha-Cronbach formula.

The research tool was applied to its sample and the statistical treatments were performed using the weighted mean and the relative weight of each statement of the questionnaire.

The main findings of the research are: 1.

The overall mean of the availability of the negative effects of the use of the Internet and social media among the members of the research sample was (1.84) and a relative weight (0.61) and medium availability.2.

The statement which is“weakens the ability to express what I think” and “the excessive use of means of communication led to low academic achievement” ranked first among the negative effects and the high availability.

The weighted mean (2.52) and the relative weight (84% ).3.

The Internet and the means of communication, and the lack of interaction with the society in which we live were ranked second among the negative effects with a largeavailability, the weighted mean (2.5) and the relative weight (83% ).4.

The use of communication means was considered as an irreplaceable waste of time.

It was ranked third among the negative effects and with great availability.

The weighted mean was 2.46 and the relative weight was 82% .

At the end of the research, the research produced a set of recommendations that could be used as well as a set of proposals that could be projects for future research.
