Consumption is one of the topics that occupies a wide field in economic research, due to the importance it represents in economic activity as it is one of the most important components of aggregate demand, because the largest percentage of individuals 'incomes is directed to consumption, and therefore it would drive growth and move economic activity towards prosperity, therefore This research attempts to measure the function of household consumption spending in the Iraqi economy during the period from 1990-2018 using the ARDL model.

The results of this study have shown that there is a long-term balance relationship between income and family consumption spending and that consumer spending depends heavily on income and there is a direct relationship between Consumer spending and income has a marginal propensity to consume 0.519%
