Abstract EN

This study deals with the narrative function in" The book of sand " by Jorge Luis Borges.

I started it with an introduction in which I defined the narrative function.

I divided it into four elements: I studied in the first element the narration in the studied corpus, in the second element the dialogue, in the third element the story, and in the fourth element the myth.

I finished it with a conclusion that showed that the author had used different forms of writing.

This gave his book the characteristic of openness, desired credibility, and realism.

And he brings him out of the narrow local, and he brings him into the field of humanity and universality.
