Abstract EN

This article deals with what is stated in the first section of the encyclopedia (Islamists' articles in literature and criticism) for Professor Ahmed Rifai Shorfi which is considered as the most important books in the modern era, and it contains a lot of Muslim writers' positions toward the issues of literature and criticism.

He tried to formulate the principles of the theory of Islamic literature, which is considered as an alternative to literary and critical currents in the Arab cultural arena; those currents which derived from physical, dubious and depraved philosophies and made man a human being without values and morals.

This is the reason why the Islamic theory came to correct the concept of literature, demonstrate its nature and determine its functions in the light of an Islamic divine point of view in order to fill the existing void in the Algerian and Arab library
