Abstract EN

The article deals with the study and analysis of the Algerian newspaper Al-Farouk, which is described as the owner of the first Arabic newspaper in the sense of the word in Algeria at the beginning of the twentieth century, and tries to highlight the reform, especially religious reform, educational and social, by standing on the articles of the most prominent book, especially its editor Sheikh Omar bin Qadour Algerian.

At the same time, we will try to emphasize that the reform movement in Algeria is not related, as some believe, to the birth of the Association of Muslim Scholars in 1931.

It dates back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and is mainly related to the reformist pioneers such as Al-Majawi, Ben Qaddour, Rasem, Ben Samaya and others.
