astract The political discourse is a fertile field in which politicians practiced different types of argumentation when addressing their public, in order to persuade and influence it.

This paper is an attempt to explore “Argumentation in the political discourse, a study of three techniques of persuasion”, it includes three main elements, the first concerns the concept of argumentation both lexical and contextual meaning, the second element examines the verbal strategies used in the political discourse within three procedures, the rhetoric one, the logical and philosophical one, and finally the psycho-linguistic one.

The third element tries to investigate the non-verbal strategies of persuasion used in this type of discourse, such as the body movements gesture, the body area, the feature, and the non-verbal aspects of the voice.

In this paper we try to join the theoretical and practical sides in order to present a clear image to the receptor about the subject.
