Independence of the central bank : what reality for the bank of algeria?

The status of the central bank differs from one country to another according to the legislative traditions adopted.

But it is only in the last thirty years that independence has become a theoretical phenomenon, adopted in many developed countries.

In this article, we are interested in assessing the Bank of Algeria's level of independence using the 1992 CWN indexes.

The first results confirm a significant decline in independence between the 1990 2001 and from 2001 to the present day.
