Abstract EN

The debate over the issue of translating terms has its roots in ancient times, but it is constantly renewed, which reflects the significance of terminology in criticism or in any other field of knowledge.

The aim of the present paper is to shed light on some aspects of the terminological disorder that resulted from the translation of critical terms.

A descriptive and analytical method has been approached to carry out this study which showed that the problem of translating terms and its resulted disorder is a chronic problem that sheds light on the crisis of the contemporary Arab mind as well as being primarily a cognitive problem.

However, this disorder was not present among the ancient Arabs, who produced terms that reflected concepts of their own making.

Even in making the term, borrowing did not have much space compared to generation and derivation, which encouraged some contemporary critics to stick to the traditional critical term and try to link it to modern Western theories.

On the other hand, another team doubted the ability of those traditional terms to contain the payload of the Source terms.

The present study is concluded with a set of recommendations that would reduce the crisis of translating the critical term.
