Abstract EN

The waqf is a charitable deed, which over time played a pivotal role in achieving social solidarity among Muslims, its peculiarities and characteristics made it one of the components of thecharitable sector, and this was attained through the investment of its assets and gains in development projects that achieved great success and general usefulness to the community.

This paper comes to highlight the jurisprudence and legislative new interest in developing waqf investment and involving it in the development process through the exploitation and investment and development of waqf properties particularly the real estate ones and adopting contemporary methods and ways of funding in accordance with the particularity of this charitable act in one hand and the nature of the waqf real estate foundations in Algeria on the other hand all that in a way that responds at a greater level to the social and economic requirements of Algerian society and in accordance with the Sharia controls and the economic feasibility of the waqf investment.
