Wakf Religious Institution and Its Role in Consolidating National IdentityEnglish Summary Identity is becoming nowadays one of the most discussed issues that interest particularly both Arab and Islamic worlds.

This is due firstly to its role in defining the community's image and civilizational affiliation in addition to other factors and issues evoked by this identity that make her the center of interest.

We can notice among these factors: Globalization and particularly the cultural one that aims at dismantling different identities and assembling them in one type.

Thus, the natural reaction of different communities would be the confirmation of local and specific identities.

The Wakf religious institution with its different types and forms has worked to confirm national identity of people's community through its activities and services.

It has actively participated in relating communities to their cultural and civilizational references and protected them from alienation and dependency.
