Abstract EN

Since the theme of human development has increasingly attracted scholars, researchers and professionals in the political community with all their ideological backgrounds, approaching this theme linguistically is a necessary step to understand how political institutions make use of the aforementioned theme in order to prove its legitimacy, achieve its goals, secure its interests, and maintain its political influence.

In this context, this article addresses the theme of human development in political contemporary Moroccan discourse from the angle of functional grammar theory whose concepts will be implemented in analyzing a piece of discourse representing the royal institution.

Therefore, we have had recourse to functional grammar as a starting point to manifest the aspects of the pragmatics of political discourse as well as to clarify its formalist structures, knowing that semantic and pragmatic characteristics determine structural ones
