Abstract EN

The paper deals with the urban growth in the cities of Yanbu Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between 1980 and 2020, The importance of the study comes from the importance of urbanization for humans, as urbanization is the mansion, the factory, and the warehouse, and the importance of the study is to identify the changes that occurred in a specific period of time in order to make the future prediction and direct it towards the right direction.

This paper studies urban growth and its developments in the specified period in the cities of Yanbu alNakhl, Yanbu al-Bahr and Yanbu al-Sinaiyah, and deals with the size, trends and characteristics of this growth, and aims to choose the most appropriate places to create new urban communities.

The study used a multiple set of data, whether spatial or descriptive, and analyzed them in spatial and statistical ways through geographic information systems and remote sensing software, with the aim of achieving the largest number of goals.

Indeed, the study concluded a set of results that highlight the dimensions of urban growth, its trends and the factors affecting in it, in addition to creating an appropriate map for future urban expansions in the governorate.
