Abstract EN
Many inhabitants of Khanaqin city suffer from various types of environmental, health and urban problems, which have many negative effects, whether at the individual or community level.
The problem of sanitation is one of the main problems facing the city's residents.
The problem is that the city is served by a network of sewers designated for rainwater only in (54, 432 m).
Additionally, there are no networks for the black water drainage and the use of sanitary sewage (septic tank) for disposal, resulting in several negative effects on public health.
The first section of this research paper includes the theoretical framework.
The second section approaches the real state of the wastewater problem.
The first second deals briefly with the wastewater network, the network systems, their lengths, geographical distribution, liquid waste and the characteristics of sewage water.
One of the most significant conclusions reached by the researchers is that there is no sewage network in all districts of Khanaqin city.
However, there is a rainwater network, and it has been established since the beginning of sixties of last century, as it works with pressure-pumping system and streamlined flow.
This study reveals that the conveyor lines and wastewater treatment plant are powered by maximum power and there is no room to provide additional neighborhoods with any service through them The main recommendations of the research are to find an ultimate solution for the widespread orbing holes
