This study comes as a comparison between the dust phenomena in Diyala and Karbala and its relation to the speed of the wind which varies monthly and yearly.

The researcher depends on choosing two different geographic places; one of them occurs in a wavy area (Diyala governorate) and the other (Karbala governorate) which included in a sedimentary plain.

Then, two statements are chosen (Khanaqine and Karbala) as their climate and the speed of the wind data are available.

The stud deals with the highest and the lowest average of wind speed in Khanaqine statement.

The general average was (0.9)m/s while in Karbala the average was (2.4)m/s.

The highest annual recurrence rate in 2015 in Khanaqine stays two days while in Karbala statement stays for three days.

On the other hand, the highest annual recurrence of dust storms was six days in Khanaqine statement in 2004 while in Karbala statement was 30 days in 2008.

Excel program was used to know the recurrence of dust phenomena.

It is found that the highest range for Khanaqine statement was in April and the lowest in December.

In Karbala, the monthly range was increased during June and decreased in December.

This means that dust phenomenon appear in summer and spring months and decreased in winter months and it increase in Khanaqine.

The annual average recurrence of dust storms was in Khanaqine in 2003 and 2004 while in Karbala statement was in 2008 and 2009.

In relation to the statistical results, the comparison between dust phenomenon and wind speed for both statements, according to Pearson correlation coefficient using excel, show that the correlation was extreme and positive.

It increases clearly in Karbala in comparison with Khanaqine.
