Wind speed in Iraq varies between light and moderato according to geographic location the tracks of pressure system, temperature andintensity of natural vegetation of each climatic station.
These characteristics and others determine the degree of wind erosion in Iraq.
Two equations were used as to identify levels of wind erosion and to compare the result founded relying on the Iraqi meteorological records and the three basic climatic factors that affect erosion (temperature, wind speed and rain).
According to 24 climatic stations spread all over Iraq.
The Sulaimaniyah climatic station revorded the lowest wind erosion rate of( 11.2) according to Chepil equation, while The Selman climatic station recorded the highest one with( 13568) Thus, wind erosion rate of Selman station is(1211.4) times than Sulaimaniyah climatic station.
While the Sulaimaniya climatic station recorded according to the coefficient of the annual wind erosion coefficient the lowest rate of erosion and the value of (10.7), while the Salman climatic station recorded the highest rate of erosion and the value of (197).
Thus, the wind erosion at the Salman station is equivalent to (18.4) times compared to the Sulaymaniyah Climate Station.
