Abstract EN

As far as the use of the Arabic language is concerned, the tourism sector in Algeria, like all other sectors and administrations, identifies a stark contrast between the theoretical call on the one hand and the implementation on the other.

This is because Arabic is constitutionally the official language which was supported by many laws imposing its mandatory use to the extent that violation of such laws introduces punishment.

This sector-tourism- actually lives a linguistic situation characterized by the mixed use of languages which introduced a chaos in all aspects of tourism which should be aesthetic and monotonous.

This paper is a field work aiming at finding explanations for this shortcoming.

It presents suggestions to authorities in charge of the sector to surmount this linguistic issue.
