Fire in nature is an element of life, which man exploits in fulfilling his daily needs.

In pagan primitive beliefs, it was a force worthy to be worshiped and around it rituals were performed and offerings given.

In the holy books, it is a means of punishment.

In the human soul, it has social dimensions firmly rooted in feelings and mind.

In poetry, "fire" represents a multidimensional symbol, which the poet draws from collective consciousness, from himself and his creative view; then he charges it with different connotations related to social and political reality, in addition to his inner struggle that resembles combustion.

The employment of the symbol of fire is evident in the experiences of contemporary poets who choose words that belong to the "fiery lexicon" to express their emotions, attitudes and opinions in an allusive singular style.
