Abstract EN

This article deals with the nature of modern and contemporary Arab thought in terms of being a philosophical and critical thought, dealing with problems specific to the reality of the Arab and Islamic nation, starting with its awareness of the moment of backwardness and the necessity of renaissance to join the ranks of Western civilization.

The attitudes of this thought and its theoretical theses on heritage and the source of its scientific and cultural theoretical knowledge were the starting point for any possible renaissance.

Hence, the research in this thought is a research in heritage and its source is represented mainly in the religious text, which is what made contemporary intellectual propositions address the source trying to re-read and then establish a new Arab Islamic revival.
