Abstract EN

The aim of this paper is to uncover time splits in contemporary Algerian novels.

It is attempt to reveal the most important time paradoxes in series of contemporary Algerian novels which have oscillated between the recursive time and the forward-looking time (prospective time).

And this is based on the nature of the investigated narratives.

The present paper also tries to differentiate between the time of the story and the time of the speech according to various critical views.

It ends up with highlighting the most important time techniques that the novelist often uses to create a beautiful dimension in his text, such as the speed of narration, summary, deletion and narration.
