Abstract EN

Sheikh Shams al-Din Muhammad ibnAbd al-Karim al-Moghili is one of the great Algerian scholars, faqihs and reformers.

He had been well appreciated by the majority of the Algerians as it has been attested by the people of his time from the Touati and Western Sudan tribes; and warmly admired by his sheikhs and followers.

His way of providing advice was based on the method of advising the public through advising kings, princes and scholars first; and referring tohis knowledge of fiqh and his fiqhi and logical analysis to solve the problems of that era.

Sheikh al-Moghili's method of advising was based on understanding the social and political reality in addition to his background in language sciences, sharia, logic and qiyas the fact that made of him a phenomenon, at that time, a person of rank among his peers and a model scholar and pious man.
