It seems clear that the geopolitical developments taking place at the regional level, especially in the Sahel, and the changes taking place in the regional and global political scene, are only the consequences of accelerating the course of globalization at all levels and in all fields, especially those related to the security aspect.

The new security environment was characterized by a qualitative shift in the perception of sources of threat, which led to the establishment of modern military and information systems of significance, which produced spaces considered by the great powers gray areas, "greyareas" that pose a danger to their interests.

Among these spaces is the African coast, which is one of the most sensitive geostrategic areas in international relations after the Atlantic intervention in Libya, a factor that has had a significant impact on the regional security climate, considering that these transformations have created a security and strategic imbalance in the region, resulting from the central roles of the forces Thus, the ence of the Algerian role made France seek to fill the vacuum through direct military intervention as an effective tool to ensure security and stability in the region.

With the political developments in the region, the frameworks for cooperation and dialogue were reviewed on the basis of a non-military approach to security that reflects the changing nature of the basic assumptions of security theories in international relations.

Non-traditional security issues have become part of the Sahel security arrangement.

Algeria at that crucial stage in the development of the regional system.

Algeria therefore had to find new roles related to the maintenance of peace and security in the region, taking into account actual and potential new threats and threats.

Perhaps France's statement by its president Francois Hollande that the security challenge would threaten the countries of the region and the world is the growing phenomenon of terrorism in the Sahel.

Algeria is the most affected by this intercontinental phenomenon and the failure of some political and security regimes to manage the chaos in the region has led to the acquisition by terrorist groups of combat capabilities that threaten their interests in the region.
