Current cognitive transformations have significantly altered the teacher's mission, by adding roles that go beyond traditional roles that limit the teacher's ability to promote and replicate knowledge.

This role has long been the main focus of the professional teacher and his only source of authority and legitimacy.

This work aims to determine the profile of the professional teacher, as defined by pupils, according to their school experience.

The study was conducted in the city of Algiers on a sample of high school pupils (47 students) randomly selected, and through interview.
