Economic transformations often force employers to lay off workers, which can lead to disputes between the two parties to the employment contract, and when attempts to reach a settlement are unsuccessful, justice is the last resort, which controls the process of economic layoffs; Is this control limited just to the extent of compliance with the legal procedures prescribed for economic redundancies? Or should we also include the reality and the seriousness of the economic motive? If worker protection is a social necessity, enterprise reform is an economic necessity.

This is why the Algerian social judge has the responsibility of balancing social and economic interests.
