Competitiveness has gained considerable attention not only at the institutional level but also at the level of States as an instrument for sustainable growth and social well-being.

Each country is therefore obliged to improve its competitiveness in order to adapt to its environment of survival.

In view of the importance of competitiveness, many international organisms have defined their concept, indicators and methods of measurement in an economy and compared them with other economies.

The results of these indicators were used in the preparation of annual reports on international competitiveness.

It has been shown through these reports that competitiveness is not linked to the natural resources and labor of the State as cheap as it is to the knowledge, technology and good policies of governments.
