This paper aims to study the crime of defamation, which is considered to be crimes against honor and consideration of the persons being.

In particular, with claims of responsibility having increased significantly in recent years.

In this research, we have found that there are considerable efforts by the Algerian legislature under the recent amendment of the Information Act to deal with this crime, through the tightening of the penalties.
