The study aims to highlight the importance of spending policy in the financing and development of public investments in Algeria through the underline of development programs during the period (2000-2019), and in the same context the contribution of these programs to raising the rates of economic growth to achieve long-term economic development, where This study shows that the spending policy in Algeria was reflected in the form of development programs with huge financial credits that contributed to raising growth rates in a significant way, especially the economic recovery program (2000-2004), but compared to the amount of financial resources that the Algerian state has harnessed in order to revive the economy The results are very modest, due to the lack of rationalization of public spending and mismanagement and implementation, as Algeria is still based on a policy supported by the hydrocarbon sector so that Algeria remains vulnerable to external shocks and hostage to the volatility of oil prices.
