Study of the effect of an anti oxidant agent (l-carnitine)‎in improving fertility in sub-fertile men

Abstract EN

Objective : To determine the effect of oral cantina supplementation on the semen meters of sub fertile men with Oligozoospermia, athenozoospermia or Teratozoospermia patients who planned for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) as a method for management of their infertility problem.

Setting : assisted Reproduction Unit, at the International Islamic Centre for Population Studies and Research (IICPSR), Al-Azhar University; Patients and Methods: According to the routine semen analysis : Group 1: 10 normal fertile men.

Group 2 : 25 infertile men (3-5years) without any treatment as control. Group 3 : 25 Oligozoospermic cases with sperm count: less than 20 million / ml.

Group 4 : 25 Athenozoospermic cases with reduced sperm motility < 40%. Group 5 : 25 Teratozoospermic cases with more than > 4 0% abnormal forms.
