Abstract EN

Conversation is considered one of the most important goals of learning languages in general and Arabic language in particular, but this skill is ambiguous and confused with other axes such as speech and dialogue, and its learning and teaching methods vary between the traditional ones which are based on memorizing and repeating dialogues after the teacher, and the new ones which are based on purposeful strategies that help the learner to acquire an educational experience, and the target skills a short time and the most enjoyable way.

this research tries to define the active learning strategies and call for the adoption of this method instead of relying on memorization and repetition.

this research comes in two chapters, the first one, introduces the concept of active learning, and the difference between it and traditional education.

the second one deals with conversation, its concept, methods and specifications according to the global reference frameworks for language education, and the difference between it and dialogue.

the conclusion includes the main results and recommendations.
