استعمالات (أي) في اللغة الفصيحة في ضوء علم اللغة المعاصرالدكتور طايل محمد أحمد الصرايرة2018ميهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة استعمال الأداة (أي) في اللغة الفصيحة في ضوء النظرية اللغوية الحديثة ويوضح البحث من خلال مفهوم جياناكيدو للفظ الحساس أو المستقطب في اللغة أن الأداة (أي) إما أن تكون استفهامية صريحة و إما أن تكون تداولية و يفسر البحث الاستعمالات التداولية المتعددة للأداة (أي) بافتراض أن هذه الاستعمالات التداولية لا تكون صحيحة إلا في سياقات عدم ثبوت وقوع الحدث الأمر الذي يجعل الأداة (أي) التداولية لفظا مستقطبا حسب نظرية (جياناكيدو) المتعلقة بالألفاظ المستقطبة.

Tayel Mohammad Ahmad Alsarayreh 2018The study aims at investigating the distribution of '? ayy'in classical Arabic in the light of the contemporary theory of linguistics.
The study shows that '? ayy' has non-interrogative uses besides its use as a question word.
It is argued that the non-interrogative uses of '? ayy' can be accounted for by assuming that non-interrogative '? ayy' can only be grammatical in non-veridical contexts and thus it is a polarity item according to Giannakidou's notion of non-veridicality.
