Abstract EN

This research paper deals with the E-government as a mechanism combatting administrative corruption.

The study argues that e-government applications entrench accountability and transparency, rebuild trust between citizens and government, and promote economic growth through improved interaction with the business sector, and empowerment of citizens to participate in the development of good governance.

To illustrate what has been argued, the example of the OPEN system in South Korea has been employed in this paper, in which e-government has contributed to the fight against corruption through a series of preventive measures that eliminate corruption from its source, deterrent and punitive measures to ensure that corruption practices are not repeated, as well as procedures to ensure transparency of administrative applications and promote accountability of citizens.
