There are many obstacles in sustainable development that have led to their non-realization, perhaps the most important of which is related to the nature and components of the economic system used per se.

The traditional system has become lacking a more dynamic situation in production and the biggest evidence of the recurrent economic crises to which the system is exposed, as it does not value the social aspect and its potential in achieving development to keep it in its purely financial form, unlike the non-interest-based banking system and the flexible and economically important social and financial methods it uses.

Islamic finance places greater responsibilities for social welfare and religious obligations in order to achieve the goals of the Islamic economy, including social justice, equitable distribution of income and wealth, and the promotion of economic development.

And thus proved its worth in investment activities and economic development.

Therefore, this research paper aims to review the financing system for sustainable development and discuss the importance of Islamic finance in this endeavor.
