As far as English as a Foreign Language teaching is concerned, a huge bark of methods have been emerged to meet the ultimate concern to reach successful teaching.
In fact, practitioners in the field of education in general and foreign languages in particular pleaded for the use of literature to teach foreign languages.
However, literary texts may not satisfy the educational and pedagogical requirements because of time constraint.
Short stories can be an appropriate literary text in teaching EFL in Algeria.
This study is an attempt to show the pedagogical advantages of short stories in teaching EFL.
A look at the first year English textbook of Algerian Secondary Education.
