The Universal Declaration of Human Rights contains a number of rights especially civil and political ones such as equality, non – discrimination, the right to life, liberty and recognition of legal personality and other rights.

It emphasizes that everyone has the right to have his case heard by an independent and impartial tribunal, in a fair and public manner, to determine his rights and obligations in any criminal charge against him.

It contains many judicial guarantees including the inadmissibility of the arbitrary arrest, detention or exile, the right to a fair trial and the principle of presumption of innocence in the person who has been charged with a criminal charge.

The Universal Declaration is a historic guide to human consensus on a unified system of values, through which judicial guarantees of human rights have acquired universal importance, despite what has been said of its compulsory legal value.
