Abstract EN

Summary: In this study, we seek to search for the manifestations of identity in the novel “Paradise of the Earth” by the Moroccan writer Mustafa Al-Wiryaghli, based on an investigation of the main character's representations of its identity, monitoring its relstionships with other characters, and its interaction with place and time, without external projection of these representations beforehand and focusing on Fictional textual dimensions.

There is no doubt that the novel, through the homogeneity of its events, characters, places, times and other components and techniques as well, presents multiple questions that are imbued with the multiplicity and complexity of human life.

Among these fundamental questions, we find that of identity with all its intellectual and philosophical Connotations.

This identity is linked to the self and to the other as well as to the individual and group memory, so that the identity of the individual cannot be separated from the group to which it belongs.

Thus, it extends to the nation and to the homeland.

Identity features are formed and defined based on the combination of many cultural, religious, historical, ethnic, social and political elements, , so we are facing a melting pot of knowledge, morals, aspirations, perceptions and creativity.
