Abstract EN

Protected agriculture is the production of unprocessed vegetables by providing a suitable environment of temperatures and humidity by means of plastic or glass houses designed for this purpose.

The aim of the research is to study the natural and human factors that affect the geographical distribution of protected agriculture in Basra governorate and rely on the geographical methods known in the study of such topics, including the analytical descriptive method used to describe the variables that accompanied the geographic distribution of protected agriculture as well as the statistical quantitative approach Direct field and specialized office resources in this regard.

The boundaries of the study in the province of Basra, which is located in the south of Iraq and consists of seven districts has been shown through research that the expansion and development of this agriculture can contribute to cover the need of various vegetable crops as the main attention was taken as required.

The study also found that there is a clear spatial variation in the preparation and production of green houses at the governorate level due to a number of reasons.

It was also shown that Zubayr is ranked first in the number of owners of plastic houses, with 100 owners and 21 dunums, The total number of houses (103) house also took the judiciary ranked first in the preparation of houses invested by cultivating the crop of tomatoes, cucumber and eggplant
