The University is the stronghold of human thought at its highest level, the source of investment and the development of human resources.

It strenghtens cultural exchanges and scientific ties with the bodies and institutions to activate scientific research and benefit from it in different aspects of life.

In the light of modern technology and the era of information, the Internet has become the best source of information and has led to the advancement of scientific research and the development of human knowledge worldwide, with its high technologies and capabilities.

At the same time, researchers have been challenged to deal with them with caution and intelligence.

The use of information technology in university institutions contributes to increasing the quality of the educational process, which has become one of the most important objectives of the universities, because it is closely related to the requirements of the market Work.

Based on the above, this paper aims to find an answer to the following problematic: What is the nature of the use of information technology by university professors to promote scientific research in the higher education sector in Algeria?
