Abstract EN
Localized amyloidosis of the larynx is a rare benign condition.
Localized laryngeal amyloidosis has no systemic association.
Extensive investigations are not necessary for patients with localized laryngeal disease in absence of systemic symptoms.
Observation and limited surgical excision are the main methods of treatment.
Long term follow up is essential because of the slowly progressive nature of the disease.
We report the case of an 11 year-old girl who presented with hoarse voice of six months duration because of mass on the left vocal cord which was excised and proved histologically to be amyloidosis of the larynx and we review the literature.
