Abstract EN

We report the case of a 62-year-old male retired officer who had been suffering from snoring and hoarseness for three years and progressive airway obstruction for five months prior to referral to our hospital.

There were no other ENT complaints.

He complained of obstructive pulmonary disease.

He smoked 20 cigarettes a day.

A combined (external and internal) laryngocele had been diagnosed clinically and radiologically.

There was no evidence of any other intralaryngeal or cervical pathology.

The external and internal components of the laryngoceles were successfully excised through a lateral thyrotomy approach and were sent for histopathologic examination which showed no evidence of associated malignancy.

The patient was free of ymptoms three months post-surgery.
