Abstract EN

Social councils are considered as an important phenomenon in the Arabs and Muslims life.

Initially, the purpose of those councils was to hold discussions in the aim to reach specific provisions, finding solutions or treat the issues that arise, sometimes the only aim was entertainment.

In the Abbasid society, this type of councils was spread widely as a result of the development reached by the Abbasid civilization in various fields, and the result of extravagance and influence by other civilizations , especially the Persian civilization, The aim of this study is to deal with the most important social councils that emerged in the Abbasid society of different strata
