Herein we report on the synthesis and single crystal X-ray structure characterization of [ { Cu2(tidf)(μ-NO3) } ∞]ClO4 (tidf = a Robson type macrocyclic ligand obtained upon condensation of 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol and 1,3-diaminopropane).
The coordination geometry around the copper(II) is square-pyramidal and has [Cu2(tidf)]2+ units connected to each other through nitrate bridges extending as a one-dimension coordination polymer.
The compound exhibits an extensive supramolecular structure supported by nonclassic hydrogen bonding between C-H⋯ O p e r c h l o r a t e and C-H⋯ O n i t r a t e .
