Persuasion requires a strong means to reach it at the recipient, and the argumentation discourse is one of the methods used to affects on the receiver and then convince, because of the use of linguistic and logical mechanisms, and the Irony is one of the ways which uses these mechanisms.

This research deals with the types of Irony found in philosophical literary texts which Dr.

Zaki Naguib Mahmoud wrote it in London and was sent to be published in the magazine "Culture", and then collected in his book "The Paradise of the Fool " and published in 1947.

Dr.

Zaki Naguib Mahmoud wrote these essays in a philosophical literary style and broadcast his ideas, which were to criticize the negatives of the Egyptian people, to call for freedom.

And used in that comparison between the case in Egypt and in England.

In his essays, Dr.

Zaki Naguib Mahmud relied on two things: the Irony and the symbol, in view of the contradiction between the apparent meaning he writes and the subtext that he intended, which makes his essays ironic.
