In this note we correct some statements that appeared in the paper.

In the paragraph beginning with “The finite element models of 5,000 DWT ship bow,” the parameter H in (5) is not the modeled depth of ship bow.

The parameter H should be the total depth of ship bow, which is 8.0 m and 11.8 m for 5,000 DWT and 10,000 DWT ships, respectively.

We rewrite the related statements as follows: 5βhhH,a=PhaPwa,where H is the total depth of ship bow (H=8.0 m and 11.8 m for 5,000 DWT and 10,000 DWT ships, resp.); h/H is the ratio of the pile-cap depth to the total depth; the h-subscript means the results associated with the pile-cap with the depth of h (e.g., Ph is the contact force at the pile-cap depth of h); similarly, the w-subscript indicates the results associated with rigid walls.
