This paper deals with the resistance of the patriarchal system in Palestinian society in Khalifeh's The Image, The Icon and The Convent.
In general, the paper is going to discuss the resistance's women to the patriarchal system in this novel.
Actually, women fall victims of gender oppression.
They suffer from the sequences of patriarchy and its effect upon woman's life.
The novel specifically hinges of Palestinian society portrayed in the plots.
The women of this society deal with various types of gender oppression.
Women are the most influenced by the patriarchal system because they lose their freedom.
As a result, they lead a hard life created by the dominated men who practice oppression against them.
As such, the paper will accurately study women's agony in order to accentuate the essence of gender oppression in the course of the novels' plots.
