This study aims to address the issue of the smart city and its role in achieving sustainable development in Algeria.

It is known that the modern trend today in the process of building cities is moving towards a more advanced process, within the framework of what is known as the smart city, through the use of more modern methods such as technology and at the same time working on Preserving natural resources as well as the capabilities of future generations through the so-called sustainable development, by applying some mechanisms to achieve this goal, we find them often in the fields of energy, renewable energy, water, waste, etc., and the extent to which technology plays an important role in developing various processes related to these areas.
