Abstract EN

This study highlights the Toponymies of Bilād Zab in the Ottoman era through a set of geographic and descriptive Arabic texts, and valued it for the observations mentioned in the voyages of exploration and archeology in the West.

The research focuses on two types of localities, the first: the geographical characteristics linked to water, by investigating the sites preceded by the roots of the different forms of (Oued ; Aïn ; Bïr ; sebkha ; Oglet ; Chott ...); and the second category: sites linked to the land and its forms and preceded by roots: (Djebel ; Kef ; Raqbat ; Dra’a ; Che aba; Jorf; Changa ; Fidh...).

The study also examines the past of the place through the use of maps and archaeological studies to highlight the historical importance of the teacher on the one hand, and his roles in various other aspects.
