This research paper aims to study the extent of the impact peculiarities economic activity sector on the distribution of small and medium enterprises in Algeria, and to achieve this, the study provided a statistical presentation of the development and division of these institutions during the period (2002- 2016) to know the changes that occurred in the fabric of this society and to identify the most important active sectors And push factors specific to each sector This study reached important results, the most prominent was the stability of structure of the fabric of small and medium enterprises and its concentration in the service sector due to its ease and speed of capital turnover and profit collection and the public works sector due to the increase in projects programmed by the public authorities during this period, while the industrial and agricultural sector remained almost absent in the fabric of institutions Small and medium enterprises
