Abstract EN

This research highlights the role of definition in controlling grammatical concepts through its logical or existential relationships, in a general monolingual dictionary directed to foreigners primarily which is the basic Arabic dictionary.

It will also address the linguistic roles of terminological definition, the aspects of its elaborate formulation in the general dictionary, and the manner that's used for educational purposes because of its compactness in aspects of its conceptual structure.
